Type2 Diabetes Diet

Adult onset of diabetes type 2 is mostly acquired due to unhealthy lifestyle mostly eating the wrong kinds of food and lack of physical exercise. The main objective of creating a type 2 diabetes diet is to see that it does not increase the blood glucose in our body and at the same time provides us with energy. The type 2 diabetes diet must be planned in such a way that it provides for eating small quantity of food at short intervals. Carbohydrates are a good form of intake for type 2 diabetes diet. That apart, proteins and some good fats are also required for energy to the body. A typical diabetes menu should comprise of wholegrain bread (maximum 2 slices) per meal, an orange or some other fruit without sugar content, lots of greens, vegetables in salad form, skimmed low-fat milk and yoghurt, egg white or a small piece of cheese, some lean meat etc. The gap between a meal and the snack in between should be about 3 hours. The diabetes statistics graphs predict a very depressing picture about the prevalence of the disease with over 250 million people suffering from diabetes all over the world.
